Police in Lusaka have picked a body of a six year old girl of mean wood phase two area.
Police spokesperson Esther Mwaata Katongo disclosed to Komboni Radio news that the girl was reported missing on Tuesday 14th march 2017 at 13 00 and was found dead yesterday in the morning near an unfinished house by her father.
Mrs Katongo said the body which was dumped near her parents’ home was found with bruises.
She said the body has since been deposited into the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) mortuary awaiting postmortem.
Meanwhile, Mrs Katongo disclosed that the 30 year old man of new Kanyama compound identified as Goodson Phiri who drowned in a ditch filled with water near superior milling as he tried to swim on Sunday has been retrieved.
Mrs Katongo said the body of the deceased was retrieved by officers from the fire brigade who had earlier failed to retrieve the body on Sunday night.
On Monday, Komboni radio news reported that a man believed to be in his thirties was feared dead after he allegedly jumped in a pond of stagnant water in Lusaka’s Chinika area in excitement after the Zambia under-20 scored their first goal against Senegal.
According to eye witnesses, the man was in a drunken state when he jumped into the waters to celebrate the junior Chipolopolo’s first goal against Senegal.
The eye witnesses narrated to a Komboni radio news crew that rushed to the scene that the victim was earlier telling his friends that the Zambia under-20 national team would lose to Senegal if he did not jump in the water.
