Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula Ward Councilor Luckson Sakala has assured residents of Chinika area that he will engage the investor who has acquired the land that has been turned into a quarry to start developing it.
In an interview with Komboni Radio news, Councilor Sakala says he is committed to finding a lasting solution to the quarries in his ward that have claimed many lives.
And the civic leader has also confirmed that the upgrading a 50 kilometers stretch of roads in his ward has resumed under the Lusaka city council road project.
Meanwhile, Councilor Sakala has also assured victims of the Chinika hostels whose houses were demolished in May 2015 that he will meet them and address the matter so that it can be taken to relevant authorities to find a lasting solution.
The 32 families whose former council houses were demolished have complained of being neglected by the government.
