Transparency International Zambia (TIZ) has welcomed the arrest of Housing and Infrastructure Development Minister Ronald Chitotela by the Anti Corruption Commission for allegedly concealing property believed to be proceeds of crime.

And TIZ President Rueben Lifuka believes that the ACC has done its homework and have sufficient grounds to effect the arrest.

Mr Lifuka has since urged the Commission and all other law enforcement agencies to do their work without any fear or favour.

Meanwhile, Mr Lifuka has called on President Lungu to immediately relieve Hon Chitotela of his ministerial duties to allow him attend to this matter.

Yesterday, the ACC arrested Mr Chitotela and charged him with two counts of Concealing Property suspected of being proceeds of crime contrary to section 71 subsection (1) of the forfeiture of proceeds of Crime Act Number 19 of 2010.
