Luanshya Mayor Nathan Chanda has expressed concern over delays by the Kafubu Water and Sewerage Company to complete rehabilitations works at the Luanshya Water plant.
And Mr Chanda has stressed that the completion of the Kafubu Water rehabilitation works under the 104 million Dollars Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) funded water supply and sewerage facilities rehabilitation project is critical for residents of Luanshya who have exercised patience during this period.
He said the project which will result into a complete makeover of the water and sewerage facilities was initially scheduled to complete before the end of the last quarter of 2017 but has protracted due to delays by the project contractor.
The Mayor has since appealed to the project contractor to expedite the works and hoped that the project will be completed by end of May as stated by the contractor.
The Mayor said this when the project funders DANIDA Business Finance representatives and other project coordinators who were in Luanshya to tour the project paid a courtesy call on him.
