THREE MILLION KWACHA DISBURSED FOR THE COMPLETION OF THE REGIONAL VETERINARY LABORATORY IN KASAMA

Three Million Kwacha has been disbursed for the completion of the Regional veterinary laboratory in Kasama district whose construction works had stalled following administrative challenges by the contractor who was initially engaged by government.

Northern Province Provincial Minister BRIAN MUNDUBILE says once fully operational the laboratory will help in mitigating livestock diseases which often ravages the province.

Mr. MUNDUBILE says the government is very keen at improving the livestock sub sector in the Northern Province citing several interventions which the government has embarked on as testimony enough for its desire to upscale its performance.

The Minister has also advised the contractor to complete the construction works on schedule so that the services starts trickling to the farmers soon.

And  Northern  Province Provincial  Fisheries and Livestock Coordinator JOSEPH CHITI says in the next five years, they will be an exponential increment in livestock population in the Northern Province owing to several interventions been implemented by the ministry.
