A 25 year old woman of Muzulabantu village of Chief Sinadambwe of Siavonga district is feared dead after she was attacked by a crocodile and dragged into Lake Kariba.
Siavonga District Commissioner Lovemore Kanyama who confirmed the sad development to Komboni Radio News says the incident happened this morning around 06 hours when the victim was fetching water in the Lake.
Mr Kanyama has identified the victim as Veronica Mufunguli of Sinampunga area.
He says both Siavonga district and state marine and officers from the Department of National Parks and Wildlife are currently searching for the body.
The Siavonga DC has since appealed to residents in the district to be mindful of the reptiles as they fetch water from the Lake.
