DELAYS TO CONSTRUCT A POLICE POST IN MTENDERE COMPOUND WORRY RESIDENTS

Residents of Mtendere Compound have challenged their area Member of Parliament Professor Nkandu Luo and councilor Watson Mtonga to explain to the people what has delayed the commencement of the construction of the demolished police post in that community.
The residents are concerned that the construction of a police has not taken off despite the many assurances by their leaders that it would commence.
Elliot Jere has observed that lack of a police post has led to over-crowding in police facilities in other surrounding communities which are servicing Mtendere residents.
He added that this has also compromised services being provided by the over-burdened police facilities which include Kalingalinga, Kalikiliki and Bennie Mwiinga police posts.
The residents also alleged that crime has increased in Mtendere after the demolition of the police post causing residents to leave in fear.
