Police in Lusaka have finally charged Chilanga Member of Parliament Keith Mukata and his wife Charmine with murder.
Police spokesperson Esther Mwaata Katongo said the duo was jointly charged with murder yesterday contrary to Section 200 of Cap 87 0f the laws of Zambia.
Mrs. Katongo added that the docket has since been pushed to National Prosecutions Authority for further dealing.
The police spokesperson said the accused persons have since been remanded in police custody. However, Charmine has been admitted to a private hospital after she fell ill.
Mr. Mukata a lawyer by profession is alleged to have shot dead a security guard identified as Namakau Kalila Kwenda of men in black security company at his law firm last week during the early hours of 6th May 2017.
Kwenda had been deployed by his employers at AKM Legal Practitioners in Rhodes Park Area a law firm owned by Mukata who is a suspect in the murder case.
