18 YEAR OLD BOY KILLED BY CROCODILE IN SIAVONGA

An eighteen year old boy has been killed and dragged into Lake Kariba by a crocodile in Siavonga District in Southern province.

Siavonga District Commissioner Lovemore Kanyama who confirmed the development to Komboni Radio News says the deceased who has been identified as Joseph Chikwakwa met his fate when he went for swimming with his two friends.

Mr Kanyama says both Siavonga marine police and the Department of National Parks and Wildlife officers are searching for the body.

He has since appealed to parents in Siavonga District to avoid allowing their children near the Lake if the cases of people being killed and injured by the reptile are to reduce.

Mr Kanyama said he is saddened at the continued cases of crocodiles attacking and killing people in Lake Kariba.
