Residents have expressed happiness following government’s announcement that it will re launch the Zambian Airways on 1st January 2019.
Speaking in separate interviews with Komboni Radio News, Ishmael Mutuba says the revival of the national airline will create more jobs for youths in the country as well as improve the tourism sector.
Meanwhile, Henry Mbambaya a residents of Kafue district has however cautioned government to take lessons from what lead to the collapse of the previous national airline.
Mr Mbambaya has since appealed to government through the ministry of Transport and Communications to employ qualified people with proven track record to avoid the collapse of the national airline.
The planned re-launch of the Zambia Airways has been deferred to January 1st 2019 from 24th October this year.
This came to light during the signing ceremony of a shareholder agreement between the Industrial Development Corporation and Ethiopian Airlines that the inaugural flight will only take off on January 1st, 2019.
According to the agreement, IDC owns 55 percent of the shares while Ethiopian Airways has 45 percent.
