Some youths in Lusaka’s Garden side three area have resorted to alcohol abuse and other bad vices due to what they termed as lack of youth empowerment programmes.
Speaking to Komboni radio news, some youths charged that they feel neglected by the authorities as they have never benefited from the much talked about youth empowerment funds.
They say it is regrettable that the people they voted for into office with the hope of bettering their welfare have allegedly failed to address their concerns.
The youths have since pleaded with the government to ensure that all youths in the country benefit from the empowerment funds unlike the current situation where only a few are benefiting.
And efforts to get a comment from Ngwerere Ward 9 Councillor Adrian Banda failed as his mobile phone was unreachable by broadcast time.
