SOLWEZI COUNCIL RECEIVES 132 APPLICATIONS FOR CDF

The Solwezi municipal Council in Northwestern province has received 132 applications from various organizations which include Women Clubs and Cooperatives vying for the 2017 Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

The municipality says it has received the applications in response to the recent invitation for applications from the public after the local authority received K700, 000 from the Central Government as part of the K1, 400,000 CDF allocation for the year 2017.

ZANIS reports that Solwezi Municipal Council Assistant Public Relations Manager Esther Chirwa disclosed the development in a statement, yesterday.

Ms. Chirwa also said the Local authority is in receipt of applications for projects in the Agriculture, Education, Health and Community Development Sectors.

The public will soon be informed about the viable projects which will be selected for the 2017 implementation, she said.

Ms. Chirwa further stated that projects which will be found viable for 2017 will only be implemented after they are approved by Minister for Local Government and Housing.
