Mtendere ward 30 Councillor Watson Mtonga has warned of stern action against residents in his ward who have engaged a known man in the community to dump garbage at Mahatima Ghandi school grounds.

In an interview with Komboni Radio News, the civic leader expressed disappointment that some unscrupulous people have continued to indiscriminately dump garbage despite efforts that have been made by the local authority to reduce garbage collection fees.

Mr. Mtonga has since warned that anyone who will be found engaging in illegal dumping of waste in the community risk being prosecuted.

The civic leader says it is regrettable that some residents are frustrating efforts being made by the local authority to keep the community clean.

Recently, residents of Mtendere compound complained that some of their colleagues have engaged a named man to collect garbage from them and then later dump it at Mahatma Ghandi School grounds.
