Thousands of Kasama residents yesterday thronged the Kasama Stadium to pay their last respects to seven St John’s Catholic Church Choir members who died on the spot in a road traffic accident along the Kayambi-Nseluka road in Mungwi district.

Presidential Affairs Minister Freedom Sikazwe and Northern Province Minister Brian Mundubile were among the prominent people that attended the funeral service.

The deceased include, Getrude Chilombo, Anna Sampa, Judith Chisanga, Theresa Mukuka, Patricia Chishimba, Judith Nsofwa and Doreen Kangwa.

The seven lost their lives on Sunday 3rd September 2017 around 15:00hours when a Mitsubishi canter bearing registration number ABZ 1277 they were traveling in lost control after the driver failed to negotiate a curve and over turned

Meanwhile, Kasama Archdiocese Archbishop Ignatius Chama has implored Zambians irrespective of their political affiliations, faiths, gender and status to show love towards one another.

 Archbishop Chama made the call at Kasama Sports Stadium during the funeral service of the departed seven choir members of Saint John’s who died on Sunday in a road traffic accident.

He said Zambians in all spheres of life should strive to embrace a spirit of togetherness.

And Archbishop Chama further called on citizens to reflect on their personal lives and gauge whether it is reflective of Gods liking.
