Lusaka District Commissioner Captain Davison Mulenga is disappointed with the reported harassment of traders and members of the public by Military personnel assigned to clean up the central business district and other cholera affected areas in the city.

Speaking during a meeting with the traders at New Soweto market this morning, Capt Mulenga said the men in uniform should show dignity and a much higher level of discipline and not harass innocent members of the public.

The District commissioner also castigated a combined team of men in uniform that allegedly broke into bars in Chawama compound and confiscated beers in the absence of the owners.

Meanwhile, traders at new Soweto market have pleaded with government to remove the military personnel in markets saying they are being beaten and forced to collect garbage with bare hands.
