10 PEOPLE NURSING INJURIES AT CHINGWERE FIRST LEVEL HOSPITAL AFTER THEY WERE INVOLVED IN A SERIOUS ROAD ACCIDENT IN MATERO

A woman in her late twenties is feared dead while several others are nursing serious injuries at Chingwele Level one Hospital after two vehicles collided this morning in Matero’s Shadreck area.

According to eye witnesses, the accident happened when the driver of a Toyota Prado registration number ALR 3618 hit into a Toyota Hiace minibus registration number ALK 4591 and lost control and in the process hit a pedestrian.

The minibus which was coming east to west has eight pupils from Matero girls and two other passengers on board.

A Komboni Radio News crew that rushed to the scene this morning found scores of onlookers watching helplessly as the injured were being transported to Matero Level one hospital for medical attention.

 

And Police spokesperson Esther Mwaata Katongo has also confirmed the development in a statement issued to Komboni Radio News today.

Mrs Katongo has disclosed that the driver of the Toyota Prado identified as Wisdom Sinkamba aged 54 has since been charged with dangerous driving.

The Police spokesperson also identified the driver of the Toyota Hiace as Mike Banda aged 30.

She explained that the accident happened when driver of the Prado cut in front of the bus thereby causing the bus to ram into it.

Mrs Katongo says the ten occupants from the bus and a pedestrian are admitted to Chingwere hospital.
