VENDORS IN KASAMA GIVEN UP TO TODAY TO VACATE THE STREETS

The Kasama Municipal Council has given vendors up to today 9th November 2017 to vacate the streets.

Kasama Mayor, Frederick Chisanga issued the ultimatum yesterday at a media briefing held at his office in the company of ward councilors.

Mr Chisanga stated that the move is aimed at restoring order and sanity in Kasama.

He stressed that street vending greatly contributes to the dirt that the Northern Province Administration through the Permanent Secretary talked about when it met Mayors and Council Chairpersons on Friday.

And when reminded by journalists that when the council attempted to chase the vendors in March this year, the provincial administration moved in, the Mayor wondered how the same people claiming that the town is dirty could stop an intervention.
