TEN PEOPLE ARRESTED FOR VANDALISING ZESCO INSTALLATIONS

Ten people have been arrested for vandalizing Zesco installations in Ndola and several other towns on the Copperbelt.
ZESCO National spokesperson Henry Kapata who disclosed the development to Komboni Radio News says that the suspects have since appeared before Magistrate John Mbozi in Ndola and are waiting to be commuted to the High Court due to the nature of the offence.
Mr Kapata identified those arrested as Richard Sinyangwe 40, Elisha Mwansa 29, Peter Mwansa 37, Charles Mwale 32 years and Reagan Siame aged 28.
Others arrested are Humphrey Bwalya 30, Martin Mulenga 37, Lloyd Mwamba 41, Chilunga Mwalula 44 who is said to be the ring leader of the group and Innocent Sikanyika aged 41.
Mr Kapata says the group is allegedly believed to be behind a spate of criminal activities on the Copperbelt.
He has since warned members of the public to desist from vandalizing ZESCO installations as the case is a serious offence that carries a minimum sentence of 10 years.
