MATERO NORTH RESIDENTS CHALLENGE CIVIC LEADERS TO VISIT THEIR WARDS

BY KALALUKA MUSHAUKWA

Residents of Lusaka’s Matero North Township have castigated their civic leaders for allegedly failing to visit the area.

The residents complained to a Komboni Radio News crew that visited the community that their area Member of Parliament and area councilor have never visited the community ever since they were elected into office.

The residents have noted with disappointment that the area has lagged behind in terms of development owing to the alleged failure by their elected leaders to visit the community.

The angry residents have since challenged their civic leaders to visit the community in order to appreciate the challenges they are facing.

And when contacted, Mwembeshi Ward 27 councilor Kelvin Kaunda dismissed the allegations from residents that he does not visit the community.

Mr Kaunda charged that to the contrary, his office is open every day and residents are free to visit him and present their challenges.
