GOVERNMENT DISMISSES RUMOURS OF ARV SHORTAGES

The Ministry of Health says it has noted with concerned reports in some media outlets alleging that there is a shortage of Anti-retro Viral Drugs (ARVs) in Muchinga Province.

In a statement made available to Komboni Radio News, Ministry of Health Spokesperson Dr Maximillian Bweupe said as of yesterday, Medical Stores Limited had delivered the scheduled normal supply of ARVs.

Dr Bweupe explained that this has assured that all the districts have enough stocks for between 1 to 2 months.

He disclosed that the Ministry has an early warning system which raises the alarm, whenever ARV stocks are reaching critically low levels.

The Ministry of Health Spokesperson says so far no such alarm has been raised, and has since assured the nation of the stability of the situation.
