A WOMAN OF CHIPATA COMPOUND IS NURSING WOUNDS AFTER BEING ASSAULTED BY HER HUSBAND

Police in Lusaka have launched a manhunt for a man of Lusaka’s Chipata compound for allegedly stubbing his 40 year old wife of the same compound with an unknown object.

Police spokesperson Esther Mwata Katongo who has disclosed the development to Komboni Radio News says the victim is currently nursing wounds which she sustained after she was unlawfully wounded by her husband yesterday around 17 hours.

Mrs Katongo identified the victim as Beatrice Sakala aged 40 while the suspect who is currently on the run has only been identified as Alfred.

She says according to the victim’s young brother, who reported the matter to the Police; the victim was stabbed using an unknown object and sustained a deep cut on the right arm and lips.

Mrs Katongo explained that the victim who was earlier admitted to Chipata first level Hospital was referred to the UTH as she was in an unconscious state.

Meanwhile, the Police spokesperson has urged members of the public to ignore an advertisement on Police recruitment circulating on social media purporting that the Zambia Police Service is recruiting officers.

Mrs Katongo has since distanced the police service from the said advert as the information is not true.
