Residents of Mkushi district have called for installation of boreholes to address the water challenges they are currently facing.
In an interview, Jackson Chimunga said residents in Muzanyuma area depends on shallow wells as the only functional borehole is not enough to cater for the growing population of people in the area.
Other residents in Tazara and Mulundu have shared similar concerns stating the need for the council to drill boreholes which they said will also help prevent waterborne diseases.
Meanwhile, the Ward Development committee-WDC leadership in Chibefwe said the project proposal to install water in Chibefwe has already been submitted and awaiting approval.
