Kitwe Council Probes Suspected Brothel Disguised as Massage Spa in Parklands

Kitwe City Council has launched an investigation into a suspected brothel operating under the guise of a massage parlor at House Number 9, Mumbwa Close off Chandamali Road in the Parklands area.

The council’s Department of Public Health conducted a routine inspection on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, accompanied by council police, after receiving complaints from residents about suspicious behavior at the premises.

Ten women, including the alleged proprietor of Divine Massage Spa, were found at the premises and taken to Kitwe Central Police Station for further investigations.

Observations suggested that the women reside at the premises, raising suspicions that the location may be operating as a brothel.

Kitwe City Council Public Relations Manager Mwaka Nakweti tells komboni news, that the council condemns any suspected illicit activities that may endanger public health, violate community morals and values, or operate outside the framework of the law.

Ms. Nakweti says the premises has been closed in the interest of public health and safety, and the council is working closely with law enforcement agencies to ensure that the matter is thoroughly reviewed and appropriate action is taken.
