Stories of youth led gangs known as junkies has become a familiar things to the public ears in Ndola, and Twapia compound has not been spared.

The area has seen a surge in junkies which attack people as early as 18hrs and sometimes even in broad daylight. The residents of the area have complained about the rising number of cases of attacks and called upon the police to intensify patrols.

Adding to the calls for security, Twapia ward area Councilor Kabwebwe Ntambo explained that the police are doing everything they can, he also dispelled assertions that the police arrest residents as early as 18hrs under the infamous idle and disorderly conduct usually referred to as ‘shishita’, adding that during the festive season, the junkies were terrorizing residents in broad daylight hence police patrols were starting earlier than usual.
