Wusakile Ward Councilor Charles Silomba, has appealed to Nkana Water and Sanitation Company to consider employing more people to ensure issues of sewer blockages are dealt with in good time.
Speaking to Komboni Radio News, Mr. Silomba, disclosed that the utility company has been complaining about labor shortage as it only has four people dealing with Wusakile and Kamfinsa constituency.
He said his ward has been grappling with the issue of blocked sewer lines and response by the utility company has been slow due to limited manpower.
Mr. Silomba, further mentioned that people have built houses on sewer lines, a situation that has made it difficult to replace damages pipes.
Despite having been ordered to demolish the said houses, residents have shunned the directive, which has contributed to continued issues of blockages.
