Corruption in CDF Projects Worries Kitwe Residents

Corruption in Zambia’s Constituency Development Fund (CDF) has sparked widespread concerns among residents of Kitwe, who feel that the fund’s intended benefit them are being undermined by corrupt practices.

Speaking in an interview with Komboni news, Some beneficiaries have come forward to share their experiences, highlighting the need for greater transparency and accountability.

In response to these concerns, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Garry Nkombo recently announced a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption in the CDF’s administration.

This move aims to benefit community members, who are directly affected by corruption in the fund.

But reacting to this Opposition Leader Peter Sinkamba has expressed skepticism about the policy, highlighting the ongoing debate about the government’s ability to tackle corruption.
