Strong Rains Blow Off Rooftops of Four Houses In Malaika Village

Four houses of Malaika village in Luanshya district have been brown off by strong winds during a heavy downpour.

Copperbelt Province Police Commissioner Peacewell Mweemba told Komboni News that the incident occurred on 22nd December, 2024 between 18:00 hrs and 18:30 hrs at Malaika village.

The Report is said to have been made on 22nd December, 2024 at 19:00 by Happy Simbeye aged 29 yrs of Hse No. 121 Don Ottavio Secondary School Teachers Compound an Engineer at ‘WE-for-Zambia’ in Malaika village on behalf of his organization that four institutional houses being House No.1 Malaika village which is occupied by Cathy Kapapa aged 35 yrs a nurse at Masaiti Boarding School Clinic, House No. 2 occupied by Faustina Kachibwa Kamfwa aged 33 yrs a teacher at Don Ottavio Secondary School, house No. 8 the VCT office at Malaika Clinic and house no. 29 which is occupied by a female person whose details are not know as she is currently out of town but a nurse at Malaika Clinic had their roofs blown off by strong winds.

Mr Mweemba explained that around 18:00 hours there was a strong wind with some rainfall which blew off the roofs of the stated houses together with the wall to Malaika village Compound, Fortunately, no injuries have so far been recorded, and the value of the damage is yet to be ascertained.
