[the_ad id="1067"]

Transport and Logistics Minister Frank Tayali has urged motorists to adhere to road safety regulations, particularly during the festive season, to reduce the alarming number of road accidents in Zambia.

Speaking at a Road Safety event in Kitwe, Mr. Tayali emphasized that a significant number of deaths in Zambia result from road accidents, highlighting the need for road safety awareness.

Mr. Tayali cautioned motorists against disobeying road safety regulations, such as over-speeding, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving unworthy vehicles, overloading, and ignoring other road traffic rules.

He also encouraged passengers to take an active role in preventing accidents by speaking up when drivers fail to follow road safety regulations.

He revealed that government has intensified measures to reduce road accidents, including sensitization programs and the installation of security surveillance cameras.

Mr. Tayali’s call for adherence to road safety regulations is timely, given the alarming statistics on road accidents in Zambia.
