The influx of Men not reporting Gender-based Violence (GBV) cases has saddened the Zambia National Men’s Network for Gender and Development.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Komboni radio news in Lusaka, Nelson Banda who is the Men’s Network National Coordinator said a number of men in various homes suffer different forms of GBV at the hands of their spouses but wondered why they choose to die in silence.
Mr. Banda, however, pointed out that one reason Men opt to stay mute is the attitude they receive from some law enforcers, who mock them for being overpowered by their spouses.
He underscored the need for law enforcers to treat GBV victims equally regardless of their gender.
Mr. Banda has since appealed to Men that fall victim to not shy away but ensure that they report to relevant authorities.
