Former councilor for Kamulanga ward 9 of Kabwata constituency in Lusaka Jonas Phiri is saddened by the rise in criminal activities in the area.

Speaking to Komboni radio news in an exclusive interview, Mr. Phiri notes that some unscrupulous youths have taken center stage in attacking unsuspecting members of the public in broad daylight a situation he says is worrying.

He explained that he has on several occasions witnessed incidents of members of the public being attacked by notorious youth groups in the area.

The former civic leader has since urged members of the community to work hand in hand with the police and help address the matter.

He says police presence cannot be everywhere at the same time hence the need for the community to equally play a part.
