Copperbelt University Breaks Ground for 1,000-Seater Auditorium

The Copperbelt University of Zambia-CBU- is set construct 1,000-seater Auditorium facility, with a state of art infrastructure.

The groundbreaking ceremony of the facility that will be constructed at the CBU riverside campus took place today at the University premises.

In his remarks opening remarks at the event, Vice Chancellor Professor Imasiku Nyambe says the construction of the auditorium demonstrates the university’s commitment towards expanding its teaching and research spaces in order to make the institution more attractive for more students across Africa and beyond.

Professor Nyambe also revealed that the construction of the auditorium will cost k8, Million Kwacha.
And Kitwe Mayor Mpasa Mwaya says the initiative is a milestone for the university as it aims to put Kitwe district on the higher landscape.

Ms. Mwaya also urged the students to take care of the infrastructure once completed.

Meanwhile, Copperbelt University Student Union-COBUSU-Edgar Chingu has thanked the university management for Initiating the construction of the infrastructure.
