Police in Ndola District on the Copperbelt Province through Twapia Police Station on Saturday night received a report of theft from a motor vehicle involving items worth over K100,000.
Copperbelt Province Police Commissioner Peacewell Mweemba in a statement made available to Komboni News stated that Mr Lunn Gao of Dola Hill Mall, a Chinese National aged 24, manager of Lying Dragon Company reported that two Apple iPads one Gold in colour and the other one Silver in colour valued at K52,920 each and an Apple pencil white in colour valued at K9,221 were stolen from his motor vehicle, a Toyota Mark X registration number ADE 5460, red in colour, with the total value of stolen properties being K115,061 belonging to his elder sister Qiam Goa aged 30.
Mr Mweemba revealed that the incident occurred on between 21:40 hours and 22:00 hours right in front of Fish shop at Dola Hill Mall.
Brief facts of the matter are that the reporter's sister Qiam Gao had parked his motor vehicle at the entrance of Fish Shop at around 21:40 and went to drop the scale which she had picked from the Casino within Dola Hill Mall, leaving the engine of the running with doors and Windows unlocked with the mentioned stolen items inside.
After dropping the scale, she went back to the Motor vehicle where she found that the rear bonnet was opened by unknown people, when she checked inside the car she discovered that the said property was stolen, promoting her to call her brother informing him of the incident.
After reviewing CCTV footage,it was discovered that the offenders had followed the victim from the casino and were driving a Suzuki motor vehicle registration number BCG 6308 silver in colour which they drove to the filling station to refuel after stealing and drove to Hot Stone Restaurant where they parked next to a blue Toyota Corolla within the Mall, leading to the Police Officers Manning the Mall apprehending the offenders and recovered the iPads and took them to Twapia Police Station where a docket of case was opened.
The offenders by the names of Mapande Zulu aged 29 a Taxi driver, Patrick Mukushi aged 37 a Congolese National the owner of the vehicle used in the commission of the Crime and Queen Mufungulwa aged 25.
Mr Mweemba added that all the suspects are detained in custody awaiting to appear in court soon
