A 15-year old mentally challenged girl, whose name has been withheld, has been defiled in Ndola by an assailant who is said to be her neighbor.

The unfortunate incident occured between 1st December 2024 and 18th May, 2025, according to the Copperbelt Province Police Commissioner Pathias Siandenge.

Brief facts of the matter are that the reporter who is the grandmother is a business lady who usually leaves the victim with other children when she goes to do business at a said market and on 18th May, 2025, she was home and around 19:00 hours she decided to get her wheel barrow from one of the neighbours and left the victim at home.

Mr Siandenge explained that the grandmother came back after a few minutes and found the victim inside the house crying and when she inquired from the other children she was informed that the assailant who has been identified, picked her again and went with her.

He went further to say that she asked the victim who revealed that it was not the first time that alleged defiler dragged her into his home and had unlawful carnal knowledge of her and each time he did so he would threaten to kill her using a knife.

The Copperbelt Police Boss concluded by stating that a docket has since been opened while no arrest has been made yet.
