Kitwe Man Killed by Uncle After Tavern Dispute Turns Violent

A murder incident has been reported in Kitwe’s Mindolo North area, where a 28-year-old man, Previn Kapambwe, was fatally attacked by his uncle, Lewis Mwansa, aged 31.

In comfirming this sad development to komboni news, Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Pathias Siandenge revealed that, the incident occurred on May 18, 2025, at around 19:00 hours.

Mr. Siandenge says the suspect and the deceased had been drinking opaque beers together with another uncle, Michael Mwansa, at a local tavern.

He explained that, upon returning home, a quarrel ensued over food, which led to the suspect attacking the deceased with an unknown instrument, causing a deep cut on the head.

He says the victim was rushed to Kitwe Teaching Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Mr. Siandenge stated that Michael Mwansa discovered the deceased lying unconscious and bleeding profusely upon returning from the toilet, as the suspect fled the scene but was later apprehended and detained in custody to assist with investigations.

A docket for murder has been opened, and the body is awaiting post-mortem examination.
