Felix Kangwa and Gabriel Tembo, two bright minds from Mazabuka, have been awarded the Presidential Youth Innovation Awards at the National Youth Indaba. Their recognition serves as a testament to their unwavering dedication and commitment to bringing positive change within their respective communities.
Felix, a Medical Licentiate at Magoye Rural Health Center, has used the power of technology to address healthcare challenges. Despite the limitations of resources in rural areas, he has innovated methods to improve patient care and leave a lasting impact.
In his own words, Felix remarked, “This award underscores the fact that innovation knows no bounds. We need not rely on external solutions – we possess the capability to create them ourselves.”
On the other hand, Gabriel, a third-year Chemical Engineering student at Copperbelt University, has directed his focus towards sustainable agriculture. His endeavors are geared towards assisting farmers in boosting crop yields while simultaneously safeguarding the environment.
Gabriel eloquently expressed, “It is about using science and technology to ensure the sustenance of future generations.”
The National Youth Indaba, commemorated under the theme “Voices Amplified, Innovations Ignited,” provided a platform for young visionaries like Felix and Gabriel to receive the recognition for their invaluable contributions. Their story serves as a reminder that groundbreaking ideas can emerge from any corner, and that youth-led innovation stands as a force in shaping the future of Zambia.
