Mobile Money Association Secretary General Chris Sichende, has implored the government to consider empowering mobile money agents with entrepreneurial skills.

Speaking in an interview , Mr. Sichende, disclosed that the majority of mobile money agents are school leavers with little or no business skills.

He said empowering them with entrepreneurial skills, will not only improve business but also the sector.

Mr. Sichende, said government should come up with an initiative to train agents who are in need of entrepreneurial skills, as majority of them lack financial literacy.

He added that as government pledges support to the sector, there is need to consider their plea as it is one of the challenges facing the sector.
