Kitwe district education board secretary (DEBS), Christopher Nyungila, has warned private schools who have refused to open schools on the 13th January, 2025, and want to use their own calendar, adding that they will face charges.
Mr. Nyungila, said is aware of rumors circulating in the district that certain private schools are against this date of the reopening of schools.
He mentioned that, returning students are grade 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 at primary level, then at secondary level grade 9, 10, 11, and 12.
Mr. Nyungila, explained that he will not allow people or individuals wanting to make their own calendar saying a policy is a policy and should be followed.
And Mr. Nyungila, has since urged all schools to stick to the calendar that has been provided by the ministry of education.
