Luanshya District Commissioner Oncemore Ngonomo has called on Luanshya residents to become self-reliant by actively engaging in food production.

Speaking during the flag-off ceremony for the distribution of fertilizer under the Food Security Pack (FSP) program in Mpatamatu recently, Mr. Ngonomo urged young people to embrace hard work and produce food to sustain themselves.

He emphasized that relying on food handouts undermines personal integrity and urged youths to play an active role in securing food for their households and the nation.

Meanwhile, Luanshya District Community Development Officer Wazeze Sandu disclosed that 1,192 people in the district have benefited from the FSP program for the 2024/25 farming season.
