Kalingalinga ward 36 in Lusaka has been named as the cleanest Ward in the province by the Ministry Of local Government and Rural Development and the Lusaka Integrated solid Waste Management Company.
Area councilor Mukubesa Nyoni said the gesture could not have come at a better time than this when various compounds in Lusaka are grappling with indiscriminate disposal of waste.
Mr. Nyoni commended residents of Kalingalinga ward for subscribing to proper channels of garbage collection which has led to the ward being named as the cleanest Ward.
The civic leader however urged residents of Kalingalinga not to drop their guard especially now that Lusaka province has begun to record Cholera cases.
Mr. Nyoni disclosed the development to Komboni radio news in an exclusive interview in Lusaka.
