Security Guard Murdered By Unknown People

A Security guard aged between 48 and 50 of Saloba Limited in Kitwe, has been murdered by unknown people.

In a statement made available to Komboni Radio, Copperbelt Police Commissioner Peacewell Mweemba, said the suspects were the same people who broke into Saloba Limited and stole three shock absorbers, a chainsaw, four heavy-duty batteries, two different truck tyres, and one complete truck wheel valued at over K42,000.

Mr. Mweemba, said the suspected robbers were later ambushed by police but managed to flee in the process, leading to the discovery the body of the guard, Chrispin Chibuye, was found dead in the bush between Saloba Limited and Mindolo Secondary School.

The murder and aggravated robbery are believed to have occurred between 03:00 hours and 06:00 hours on Saturday at Saloba Limited.

The body of the deceased has since been deposited in Kitwe Teaching Hospital (KTH), mortuary awaiting postmortem and subsequent burial.
