Government through the Ministry of Science and Technology, has launched a free WiFi initiative in Kitwe’s Chisokone Market.
This move aims to promote digital inclusivity and improve business transactions in the country.
According to Ministry of Science and Technology Deputy Director Aaron Mwandia, the launch of Zamfree WiFi in Kitwe will be crucial in enhancing business operations, particularly for foreign transactions.
Mr. Mwandia noted that differences in networks often pose challenges for foreigners conducting business in Zambia.
Kitwe Deputy Mayor Alex Mwango urged traders at Chisokone Market to utilize the free WiFi to expand their local businesses and tap into international opportunities.
Mr. Mwango described this initiative as a key empowerment and growth tool, enabling faster and more reliable transactions.
Meanwhile, Chisokone Market Trader Joseph Simusokwe expressed gratitude to the government for enhancing service delivery in markets.
This initiative is part of Zambia’s efforts to strengthen its digital infrastructure and promote regional innovation.
