Kitwe Mayor Mpasa Mwaya says the "Cash for Work" program is helping improve the city's cleanliness.
Ms. Mwaya said that activities such as cleaning drainages and other public spaces are contributing significantly to keeping Kitwe clean.
She added that the program has also created job opportunities for residents who may have been left out of other government social schemes, providing immediate financial relief.
The Kitwe Mayor said the initiative has been well-received by the people of Kitwe, as it positively impacts their quality of life.
The "Cash for Work" program offers eligible individuals' short-term employment 10 days a month, allowing vulnerable citizens to earn income while contributing to public works projects.
