Five 10,000-liter water tanks donated by First National Bank to the Ipusukilo Community in Kitwe have remained unconnected to the water network.
The tanks that were donated in July this year, are currently being kept at Nkana Water Supply and Sanitation’s office.
According to Ipusukilo Ward Councilor, Evans Swaba, FNB did not plan for the installation when it was making the donation.
Councilor Swaba says a Bill of Quantities has since been submitted to First National Bank for installation funding, but the bank Five 10,000-liter water tanks donated by First National Bank to the Ipusukilo Community in Kitwe have yet to be connected to the water network. The tanks, which were donated in July of this year, are currently stored at the Nkana Water Supply and Sanitation office.
According to Ipusukilo Ward Councilor Evans Swaba, First National Bank did not include plans for installation when it made the donation. Councilor Swaba mentioned that a Bill of Quantities has been submitted to the bank for funding the installation, but they have not received a response yet.
He added that if First National Bank does not provide funding for the connection, Nkana Water will take over the installation work.has yet to respond.
Councilor Swaba added that if FNB does not fund the connection, Nkana Water will step in to do the work.
