Unknown Criminals in Mufulira district on the Copperbelt are reported to have stolen a motor vehicle belonging to Micheal Mutala, a 60-Year-old Man of Kantanshi area.
Confirming the development to Komboni News, Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba disclosed that the motor vehicle Toyota sprinter reg number AFB2702ZM, with chassis number AE110-0050015, Engine number 5A-0142422, pearl in colour was stolen by unknown criminals.
Mr. Mweemba says the theft incident happened whilst he was working as a tax pirater within town center.
Mr. Mweemba says, according to Mr. Mutala he was booked by a lone male person, whose identity is unknown.
He says the person in question when he booked him claimed that he who was going to take a sick person from Kantanshi section area to Ronald ross hospital, but when they reached section area, he was told to park the vehicle at the roadside because the road was unpassable.
He narrates that later, he was asked to accompany the said male person to pick the sick person leaving the vehicle off, picked the keys and escorted him.
He adds that, whilst moving when they reached a corner, Mr. Mutala decided to go back as he noticed that the man was constantly on phone, when he reached the place where he parked the vehicle it was not there and the male person was nowhere to be seen, hence reporting the matter to the police.
The Copperbelt Police Chief has revealed that a docket has been opened with no arrest or recovery of a motor vehicle made so far.
