Traders Near Chaisa Police Post Call for Reopening of Public Toilet

Some traders operating near Chaisa police post in Lusaka have raised concerns over the continued closure of the fee-paying public toilet around the area.

Robert Banda one of the affected traders told Komboni radio news in an interview that the initiative by the Lusaka City council to put up a public toilet is commendable but wondered why the facility is always closed due to insufficient water supply making it difficult for traders to operate.

A Mr. Mulenga another affected citizen noted that inmates at Chaisa police post use the same public toilet but equally wondered how the situation is being managed when the facility is nonoperational.

Others lamented that they now trade in fear if contracting diseases as some have opted to ease themselves at undesignated places.

The affected traders have since appealed to the local civic leadership to quickly come to their aid and help address the matter.

And efforts to get a comment from the area civic leader proved futile by press time.
