The Campaign for female Education (CAMFED)says it has supported 3,154 school going girls in weekly boarding schools with food items in response to the drought situation.
Speaking during the 2024 CAMFED annual General meeting in Lusaka, CAMFED board Chairperson Anita Hamatumbika said CAMFED prioritizes the importance of educating girls especially those in hard to reach areas.
Ms. Hamatumbika explained that in a bid to support the girl child, CAMFED has equally provided comprehensive bursaries to 36,388 girls in 766 schools across the country adding that school leavers are supported with various skills to enable them to earn a living.
And permanent Secretary Administration in the Ministry of Education Noriana Muneku applauded CAMFED for supplementing governments effort to provide quality education especially to the girl child.
