Public Urged to Protect Market Generators Amid Energy Crisis

Permanent Secretary Administration in the Ministry Of Local Government and Rural Development Maambo Hamaundu has warned members of the public against vandalizing the newly installed generators at various markets across the country.

Mr. Hamaundu says the newly installed generators are helping traders in mitigating the effects of the energy crisis and as such should be protected from all forms of vandalism.

He urged authorities in markets where the generators are installed to be watchful and effect a citizen arrest should they suspect any acts of vandalism.

Mr. Hamaundu further applauded the power utility company ZESCO for coming up with the initiative which has positively benefited traders countrywide.
