Chief Mumena of the Kaonde speaking people of North Western Province has raised concerns at the none enforcement of the noise pollution provision provided for in the Zambian Laws which he says is a threat to environmental protection.
Chief Mumena said it is disheartening to see residential areas being exposed to loud music coming from bars and night clubs a situation he says is worrying.
He wondered why relevant authorities countrywide have not taken to task bar owners that have continued to break the law disregarding residents concerns.
Chief Mumena has since implored both government and other traditional leaders to ensure that law that are aimed at protecting the environment are enforced.
The traditional leader was speaking on the sidelines of the environmental protection dialogue meeting in Lusaka.
