A 21 Year Old Student at the Copperbelt University of Zambia-CBU-is reported to have been murdered after being attacked by unknown individuals who went away with his cellphone.

The student identified as, Kafula Musonda was staying in Mufulira district on the Copperbelt and he was in the school of Mathematics and Natural sciences.

The incident was reported at Kitwe East Police Station on September, 16, 2024.

Confirming this Development to komboni news, Copperbelt Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba revealed that, the victim sustained two deep cuts on the head and unknown instrument is alleged to have used in the act.

Mr. Mweemba explains that, on September, 14, 2024 around 22:30hours the victim was coming from the campus to Chipata Compound where his boarding house is located and before he could pass through the campus small gate he was attacked by unknown persons.

He adds that after the attack, the victim managed to reach the community Police Post in Chipata Compound about 600 meters from the gate where he found Bruce Chembe, a Community Crime Prevention Officer-CCPU-who later informed the Kitwe East Police Station who rushed the unconscious victim and rushed him to Kitwe Teaching Hospital where he was admitted

Meanwhile, the Copperbelt Police Chief has disclosed that the victim died today at around 09:00hours at Kitwe Teaching Hospital, while his body has been deposited in the Mortuary awaiting post mortem and burial.
