Chief Machiya has commended republican President Hakainde Hichilema for fostering unity and peace among all 72 tribes of the country, speaking on behalf of 52 Chiefs who attends the Katanino Traditional Ceremony of the Lamba speaking people of the Copperbelt Province in Masaiti, Chief Machiya acknowledged government's efforts in ensuring that the 'one Zambia one Nation motto' is upheld through practically coexisting despite different traditional beliefs.
The Copperbelt Chiefs' Chairman further appreciated the ongoing construction of the Ndola-Lusaka dual carriage way and the Luanshy-Fisenge road, revamping of the Mining sector through the reopening of 28 shaft in Luanshya district and Konkola Copper Mines-KCM, further adding that there is need to look into the Kalengwa and the Mpongwe-Machiya roads.
In response, President Hakainde Hichilema thanked the traditional chiefs for preaching unity and peace among their people. The Republican stated that his government is committed to overcome the challenges brought about by the dry spells by providing relief food and increasing resilience in all areas by seeing to it that mineral resources are fully exploited and ensuring that each district produces adequate food which can culminate into excess produce hence assured food security
